I welcomed a strong start today with an early morning house clean/reorganise
– necessary after three days of neglect. Feeling as if last week I began to
successfully flesh out a routine that gave me direction & motivation, I had
woken up early to get stuck into things. Regrettably, my good mood began to
sour once I sat down for today’s #MondayMerger, which never quite got off the
ground.

Frankly, I’ve been feeling a bit out of sorts today – not to mention that my laptop inconveniently reached capacity & chucked a hissy fit. It’s running smoothly again after I emptied most of the contents out onto a portable hard drive, but it certainly sapped my patience for technology today.

This post was almost forgotten amid some very last-minute work, due tomorrow! When I say ‘work’, I mean a set of place cards I’ve been making for one of my best friend’s 30th birthday dinner party. I finished the cards last week, but due to some solid procrastination, I only just worked out the packaging tonight & have been scrambling to get that done – hence the delay in my usual Monday activities! (I’ll share these next week as the design is a surprise.)

I do wonder if I need to switch up my blogging day because after 3 days of work, it’s always a struggle to return to the previous week & the headspace I kept throughout. Thank goodness for diaries! Yet, even a glance through this doesn’t speak of anything too thrilling – just me chipping away at a couple of commissions, some web re-design & the creation of a business plan. The latter, was necessary and, I was really pleased to have created a game plan for the next few months! Only problem is, I’m just not feeling it today.

Creating Routine – Monday Minutes.

I’ve decided Monday morning will be the time I set aside to share some insights into my creative routine. I will try my best to keep it brief… though, let’s be honest, will likely fail. However, I’ll break it up into little morsels, so you can pick & read as you desire.
This morning, I will be introducing a new drawing challenge I have set myself + dig into a few thoughts about marketing that I’ve been mulling over. I’ve been doing a lot of brainstorming, yet suspect I won’t be doing myself any favours by dumping an essay in your inbox this early on. So, I might pop back in midweek with a few more bits and pieces!
Failure at the Starting Line?
Now that the launch of Friend of Note has come & gone, it is time to create new content, to build upon the dream that I have for this little brand. Big-ish dreams! As of now, we are but a tiny seed planted in an immense garden, and it is my plan that this blog will capture our growth. All the sunshine, and all the rain. Will it be fun? Yes!
