Hello Friends!!!
Here I find myself, popping in completely on a whim with some random thoughts because I’ve been feeling a little stale. Life has been very consistent of late— not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but a little same old, same old.
I work Thursday through Sunday, plus every second Monday or so, then I walk, sort my emails, embroider, go to the gym once a week, (maybe twice if I’m organised), grocery shop, socialise, chat on the phone, tidy my room, make a mess, tidy my room, make food, eat, do the washing, chat some more, throw in a scattering more life admin, maybe a Lyra session. Repeat. That feels like the humdrum of life at the moment – there are certainly some bright moments, and a good dash of contentment and joy, but it’s quite a blur of going through familiar motions. I want life to feel more intentional.
In that vein, I started another 30-day challenge, which commenced on the 1st of October— one centralised on the idea of creation, intentionality, frugality, and ‘soul nourishment’. (I did a 30-day social media/YouTube ban in June and found it quite fruitful… whilst it lasted.) But really, it simply is born of a desire to read more, make more, eat out less, spend less, and be more present. Over this past month or so, I have had a number of sparks of inspiration, yet I only end up carrying out one or two before I remember how long it takes to stitch a single pattern on the wing of a hummingbird. Next thing I know, I’ve run out of effort or attention and have found myself sorting my emails, again.
However, for some reason, when I blog, life begins to feel a little more intentional. Or, perhaps it’s simply more the action of taking time out of doing, to record that moment in time. Not mindlessly moving from one task to another without note. And so I thought I would take this hour to pause and share these thoughts and some photos of the past few months AND to simply say HI!
It is too easy to neglect the friends who are further away, to neglect those who have supported you through all your ‘bright ideas’. Be assured it’s not for a lack of love or thought, (I hope you know I think of all of you regularly as I roll through the motions of life), but that’s the thing, life just rolls on and the thoughts remains just thoughts. Alas, until I achieve the intentionality I aspire to practice, I hope you enjoy my little photo album:

Now, I will admit that there is a half-eaten crumpet, an unfinished pot of tea and a jar of jam left open on my kitchen bench – so, I’m going to post this random little greeting, tidy up that mess, eat some lunch, find myself a spot in the sunshine and resume the stitching of another little creature. And maybe, just maybe, practice some intentional mindfulness.
Talk… sometime,
Fiona x
