Hello Friends!
Despite being excited this morning by the prospect of an enjoyable Monday, I found myself procrastinating heavily throughout the day leaving me feeling… crappy. I found it particularly challenging to switch tasks without reaching for my phone to check for emails, news or missed notifications and/or scroll aimlessly through Instagram and TikTok, hoping for a spark of inspiration, engagement or interest – despite looking forward to the next task. I also kept sitting down to read my new book, ‘The Priory of the Orange Tree‘, a rather addictive read. In spite of my own self-sabotage, I did tick off some goals, yet I’m still feeling dissatisfied – even reaching again for my phone as I write this very paragraph. Urgh.
Spring Cleaning
I suspect the wonderful warm weather had something to do with this, but last week I was in a big mood to spring clean. Alas, I had other commitments to attend to, yet I assured myself I could get stuck into it this week, which is how I started the day. With work and school to balance, I don’t want to get too distracted from my priorities so I decided I’d clean the house in sections at a time. Hopefully come Summer, the house will be spick and span for Christmas decorations! Hee hee.

I started with my books, removing them from their shelves and the storage compartment of my couch. Sorting and dusting them, (& the surrounding area), before popping each book back, with some rearrangement. I also picked out a couple to donate to the op shop because I have acquired quite a few new books of late and am running out of room! I would have liked to continue further… but I had procrastinating to attend to!
Etsy Shop Update!
After an hour or so of cleaning, and some solid time wasting, I updated my Etsy store with two new-ish products! You may remember that I’ve spent the last few weeks chipping away at a bundle of goodies for Sunroom Studios? Well, I finally posted that off last Wednesday, which meant I had a chance to photograph some finished products, hence the new listings!
Below is the bundle I sent off: 2 x Handy Sticker Sheet packs, 2 x Birthday Collection die-cut packs, 2 Birthday Collection Sticker Sheet packs, 1 small & 1 large Halloween Frog paper decorations, a handful of die-cut butterfly stickers and a couple of business cards.

I had designed a second Halloween decoration, however, after assembling a single ‘good-copy’ version of the witch, I concluded these creations were just too fiddly and not of a high enough quality to be profitable so, unfortunately, she didn’t make the cut.

#MondayMerger
By the time the afternoon had rolled around, I was in a pretty bad mood so I decided I needed to get out of my own head and watch someone else be creative. I picked an AppleCheeks video and quickly found myself wanting to draw something as I watched. I decided I’d attempt a classic #MondayMerger and guess what? It did the trick! Just a fun little festive cake. With a touch more finessing, I think this could be cute for a Christmas sticker. Yes, it is getting to that time of year. JOY!

Conclusion
Whilst I feel my mood has cycled closer back to this morning’s cheeriness, I am finding it a little challenging to keep momentum with anything at the moment. I feel I keep stopping and starting, spending one day on Friend of Note, then dropping that for 2-3 days of UX/UI study, then 3 days of work. Just as I am feeling good & on a roll with whatever I am working on..
.. I have to change gears for a number of days which sees me loose traction.
I am feeling this the most with my course. After 3 – 4 days away from it, I can sense an undercurrent of guilt and a reluctance to jump back into the unease of the unknown. I’m not sure what the solution is yet, but I feel that is where my unease stemmed from today. Wish me luck with rest of the week!
Talk soon,
Fiona x
